RAG: Dr. Tom Davis
We do a feature on this blog called RAG. It is a tongue in cheek acronym that stands for Recognition and Gratitude. My blog post today is a RAG for a special and influential person in my life: my dad.
You may have heard of the recent completion of the genome sequencing project in strawberries. Every few years, my dad’s career as a research geneticist would have him quoted briefly in a major news outlet. As a part of the completion of this project, this is one of those times. You can read more about the completed research here and here. I wanted to take the opportunity to not only recognize my dad, but also acknowledge his influence on me and the course of my life.
My father has been tremendously influential in my life, personally and professionally. Two qualities that have driven my professional life come from him: the first is an inherent respect for the natural world that we are a part of; the second is an innate curiosity to figure out how the natural world works. A lifetime growing up watching my role model, my father, had a huge role in my finding and pursuing chiropractic. Chiropractic, to me, is my outlet for using these traits I learned from my dad. Following simple natural laws of how life works, I can help people live a better life.
Not to mention what a privilege it is to get to take care of him in the office. Not only is he a great dad, but also a model chiropractic patient.
Love you! Happy Birthday, and Congratulations!
